Foreign Minister Titus Corlăţean met on 30 June 2013, in Manama, with the Minister in charge of the Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, on the occasion of the meeting of the EU – GCC Ministerial Council.
The Romanian official expressed interest in reinvigorated bilateral political dialogue and invited the Omani Minister to make an official visit to Romania, while also stating his availability to visit Oman on the occasion of a tour in the region.
Minister Titus Corlăţean presented the opportunities held out by the economic, investment and financial environment in Romania and encouraged Omani business persons to invest in the Romanian market. In particular, he showed an interest in luring Oman’s sovereign wealth fund to Romania, as well as in identifying other areas of cooperation of interest to both sides, such as agriculture, tourism, constructions, and ship repair.
The two officials had a brief exchange of views on regional developments and expressed their mutual interest in better collaborating in international bodies.
